Paulo Filho on “short list” for Bellator champ Hector Lombard, no title on line
Although former World Extreme Cagefighting middleweight champion Paulo Filho is a possibility, Bellator Fighting Championship officials have not determined if he, in fact, will fight middleweight champ Hector Lombard in an upcoming season-two fight.
On Monday Tatame reported the fight, citing one of Lombard’s trainers, and stated it’ll take place May 20 with Lombard’s title up for grabs.
However, a source close to the fighters today told MMAjunkie.com that Filho is on a “short list” of possibilities and – regardless of the opponent – Lombard’s belt will not be on the line.
