Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked a pivotal bantamweight showdown between Germaine de Randamie and Julianna Pena for its upcoming “Fight Night” event on Oct. 3, though a venue and location have yet to be determined.
That’s according to a report from MMA Fighting.
De Randamie (9-4) was defeated by reigning two-division champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 245 last December. The loss to “Lioness” snapped a five-fight win streak in which “The Iron Lady” turned away the likes of Aspen Ladd and Holly Holm, among others.
As for Pena (9-3), her last appearance came in a winning effort against Nicco Montano at UFC Fight Night 155 in July 2019. “The Venezuelan Vixen” has competed just once since early 2017 after becoming a mother and focusing on her responsibilities outside the cage.
The upcoming UFC event on Oct. 3 will also feature a heavyweight showdown between Yorgan De Castro and Ben Sosoli, while strawweight veterans Jinh Yu Frey and Konklak Suphisara hook ‘em up at 115 pounds.
Stay tuned for more Oct. 3 fight announcements in the coming weeks.
