UFC and TUF veteran Luis Peña still faces misdemeanor battery charges.
Luis Peña, who appeared on the 27th season of the Ultimate Fighter and has made eight appearances inside the Octagon, was charged with domestic battery in Boca Raton, FL on May 22 after he was accused of punching a women in the face.
MMA Fighting reports that a probable cause affidavit states that Peña and the woman had met at a park to discuss their relationship before the suspected assault occurred.
On June 18 Peña was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief. Those charges stem from accusations that on June 14 Peña grabbed a woman’s phone and destroyed it after accusing her of looking at other men on Instagram.
The June 14 incident carried potential felony charges. However, they have since been downgraded to misdemeanors after his accuser decided to not move forwards with the case.
Peña is also facing misdemeanor charges for the May 22 incident. His accuser in that case has filed an affidavit with a Palm Beach County court stating she does not want to press charges.
Peña’s lawyer Daniel Martinez told MMA fighting that his client is hoping that his charges will be dismissed in favor of a diversion program that might include anger management classes.
A no-contact order has been placed between Peña and his accuser.
