Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight fan favorite, Mike Perry, is back in the win column after his “Fight of the Night” performance against Alex Oliveira at UFC Ft. Lauderdale last Sat. night (April 27, 2019) in Sunrise, Florida.

But just because “Platinum” has momentum on his side doesn’t mean he’s in any big hurry to get back inside the cage. Finally earning enough money to “chill” for the time being, the unranked Perry is willing to wait for the right opponent.

Like embattled welterweight slugger, Darren Till.

“I think the Darren Till fight’s a good fight,” Perry said (via MMA Fighting). “He’s called me out in the Octagon, I just called him out in the Octagon, I think that’s good press for the UFC to put together. The fight makes sense. I used to not want to call people out who were coming off a loss, but you know what, you up in the top and you got that number next to your name? I’m gonna need that spot, so I’m gonna need that fight if it’s available.”

Till is ranked No. 6 at 170 pounds (see the Top 15 here).

There’s no telling how long “The Gorilla” will need to get back into action. After coming off back-to-back losses to Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal, Till ran into legal trouble in the Canary Islands, which cost him a pretty penny when all was said and done.

Perry (13-4), meanwhile, recently got married and has his own team to focus on for the remainder of 2019. No question he’d take another fight if UFC came calling, but a Till showdown might be worth the wait.
