Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) appears to have locked down its welterweight co-main event for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 156 event on ESPN+, scheduled for Sat., Aug. 10, 2019 inside Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Mike Perry vs. Vicente Luque, according to MMA Uncensored (via MMA Junkie).
After an electric 11-1 start to his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career, Perry (13-4) has struggled to stay consistent, putting together a 2-3 record over the last couple of years. “Platinum” was last seen turning away Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 150 back in April.
As for Vicente (16-6-1), the Brazilian has quietly put together five straight wins and now stands at 9-2 under the UFC banner, good enough for No. 15 in the official rankings. “The Silent Assassin” is fresh off his first-round destruction over Derrick Krantz at UFC Rochester.
UFC Fight Night 156 will be headlined by the women’s flyweight title fight between current 125-pound champion, Valentina Shevchenko, and the last woman to defeat her, Liz Carmouche. Elsewhere on the card, Veronica Macedo and Rachael Ostovich collide for flyweight bragging rights.
