Mike Perry’s former wife was denied a restraining order in March.

According to MMA Junkie Mike Perry’s former wife attempted to secure a protective order against him earlier this year. That outlet reports that she was denied her request after failing “to allege facts sufficient”.

MMA Junkie cites court records obtained from the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. According to their reporting Perry’s ex-wife, a 28-year-old woman, submitted three written statements to the court accusing Perry of making threats of physical violence.

The accusations read as follows:

On February 8, 2020, unknown location: “Michael Perry, my husband, verbally threatened if I were to stay at the house he would ‘beat my ass.’”

On February 8, 2020, unknown location: “Michael Perry, my husband, followed me to the house highly intoxicated screaming at his mother to have me come outside. When we both refused he said, ‘Well then I’ll go home and burn the house down with the dogs in it.’ Police pulled him over in the neighborhood after he peeled out in the house’s grass yard.”

On March 3, 2020, Rachel’s Strip Club in Orlando: “Michael Perry, my husband, was under the influence of heavy alcohol and unknown drugs, was caught cheating, stated he paid to have ‘‘[a woman] suck his (expletive)’ in the private room. Told me to ‘file the papers, (expletive). I want a divorce.’”

In denying the restraining order Judge Alice L. Blackwell stated, “Under Florida law, general relationship problems and uncivil behavior are not domestic violence. … Verbal threats, without more, are not domestic violence.”

This report comes after Perry ex-wife remarked on social media that she was, “done being silent.” Accompanying a picture of her and Perry, she further commented: “What happened is not ok. It’s never acceptable. It’s still happening everyday to others. It’s time for someone to speak up, to be brave and tell the truth. I’m ready to talk… who’s ready to listen?”

The UFC recently announced that Perry would not be offered any bouts with the promotion until he seeks substance and behavioral counseling. That statement was a response to video footage that appeared to show Perry striking an older man in a restaurant in Texas.

UFC President Dana White responded to that video by remarking that he could see such an incident involving Perry coming for, “the last several months”.

Perry, whose past legal troubles are well documented, last appeared for the UFC in June, at UFC on ESPN: Poirier vs. Hooker. There he beat Mickey Gall by unanimous decision.

Bloody Elbow has requested a comment from Perry’s management company regarding this latest report, but is yet to receive a response.
