PFL Media
Watch and discuss the welterweight and women’s lightweight tournaments for the Professional Fighters League, starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on Friday, October 11th.
Tonight (Friday, October 11th) from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas sees, the welterweights and women’s lightweights take center stage, as we’ve reached the playoff portion of season 2 of the Professional Fighters League.
The welterweights will have to fight twice in one night, with winners of the quarterfinals needing to win again in the semifinals to reach the $1 million tournament final. Glaico Franca is the tournament #1 seed at welterweight, while last season’s champion Magomed Magomedkerimov is the #2 seed.
As for the women’s lightweights, it’s just four competitors, with Kayla Harrison taking on late replacement Bobbi Jo Dalziel. The winner of that bout will take on the winner of Sarah Kaufman vs. Larissa Pacheco, and expectation is that we’ll get Harrison vs. Kaufman in the final.
One important thing to note for the quarterfinal tiebreakers is no longer based on who won round one. There’s a much more sensible process this time around.
PFL quarterfinal tiebreaker significant rule change for this year: If fight is a draw after 2 rounds, judges then pick a winner based on overall fight performance. Last year, 1st-round winner advanced. Read the tiebreaker rules in below screenshot. pic.twitter.com/9SuDZMt14H
