Light heavyweight: Antonio Carlos Junior def. Marthin Hamlet via submission (rear-naked choke), Round 1 (3:49)
In the light heavyweight final, UFC veteran Antonio Carlos Junior won the title still in the first round of his bout against Marthin Hamlet. After spending most of the time on the feet, the Brazilian hurt his opponent with a right hand in the second portion of the round, which led to an opening for a back take and a tight rear-naked choke soon after to secure the belt.
The 31-year-old scored wins over former PFL champion Emiliano Sordi and UFC vet Tom Lawlor this season, as well fighting Vinny Magalhaes to a No Contest due to an accidental groin strike, but it was enough for ‘Shoeface’ to qualify for the playoffs and ultimately become this season’s light heavyweight champion.

In an intelligent performance, Movlid Khaybulaev managed to always stay one step ahead of Chris Wade and became the new featherweight champion with a unanimous decision win. After cutting his opponent’s eyebrow deeply early into the fight, the Russian resorted to his superior wrestling to outwork the ‘Long Island Killer’ until the final bell.
Khaybulaev’s championship win was much like the rest of his 2021 season in the tournament, where he scored decision victories over Lazrar Stojadinovic, Lance Palmer and Brendan Loughnane in order to get to the final at PLF 10.

Heavyweight: Bruno Cappellozza def. Ante Delija via unanimous decision (49-45, 49-45, 49-46)
In a rematch and also the wildest fight of the night, both Bruno Cappelozza and Ante Delija seemed to be one or two punches away from earning a TKO after badly hurting each other badly in the first two rounds.
Once the dust settled and both ahtletes had to rely on their hearts to fight through exhaustion, it was the Brazilian who emerged victorious after five rounds. Again, Cappelozza defeated Delija, though this time around via unanimous decision, to earn the heavyweight title and the coveted prize money.
In his first fight of this season, Bruno knocked out Delija in only 40 seconds, a win that was followed by more KO stoppages, over Muhammed DeReese and Jamelle Jones, until his hard-fought, belt-winning performance in the rematch to close the 2021 heavyweight tounrament.

Welterweight: Ray Cooper III def. Magomed Magomedkerimov via KO (punches), Round 3 (3:02)
In a thrilling comeback knockout win, Ray Cooper III won his second PFL championship in a row from the brink of defeat. In a rematch against Magomed Magomedkerimov, who defeated the Hawaiian in the 2018 final, ‘Braddah Boy’ caught his opponent flush in the third round to win his second tournament.
After getting rocked in the third round, Cooper III wobbled Magomed with a right hand and then finished him off with a looping left moments later. The win marked Ray’s first and only KO win of the season, after beating both Rory MacDonald and Nikolay Aleksakhin by unanimous decision and Jason Ponet via submission that started the 28-year-old’s 2021 campaign.

In predictable fashion, Kayla Harrison remains undefeated in MMA and scored her second PFL belt in a row. Heavy underdog Taylor Guardado managed to survive the Olympic medalist for almost two rounds, but got caught in a tight armbar by the end of the second, leading to a submission win and another one million dollars check for the champion.
With another finish on her resume, Harrison ends her perfect PFL season without going the distance a single time in 2021. Before Guardado, Kayla had TKO’d both Genah Fabian and Mariana Morais, while submitting Cindy Dandois via armbar as well.
