UFC welterweight Leon Edwards is looking in phenomenal shape.
Leon Edwards hasn’t fought in the UFC almost two years, but the top-ranked welterweight clearly hasn’t missed a day in the gym.
Edwards will return to the octagon next Saturday to take on Belal Muhammad in the UFC Vegas 21 main event, and ‘Rocky’ is looking absolutely ripped.
“Proof is in the progress,” Edwards wrote on Instagram, tagging coach Henry Cleminson of Corefit UK.
The proof is, indeed, in the pudding, as Edwards looks to be in the best shape of his career ahead of his long-awaited return to the UFC against Muhammad.
Edwards has been inactive for the last twenty months through no fault of his own, as the Brit was forced to endure multiple fight cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Edwards was initially expected to fight Khamzat Chimaev, but ‘Borz’ was forced to pull out of their matchup twice due to COVID-related complications.
Edwards will now take on Muhammad, a top-fifteen ranked welterweight, who will serve as Chimaev’s replacement. The matchup will take place on March 13 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
