Alex Pereira defended his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight championship for the third time at UFC 307 last night (Sat., Oct. 5, 2024) when he brutally stopped Khalil Rountree Jr. in the fourth round via TKO from inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah (watch highlights).
Both men received $50k for their four-round bloody battle.
UFC CEO Dana White shared a photo of Rountree Jr. with the caption “absolute f—kin stud” after his loss.

UFC company officials confirmed to MMAMania.com that Rountree Jr. was transported to a local Utah hospital following his fight for a precautionary CT scan of his face.
The results are currently unknown, but we will update you soon.
Rountree Jr. had his five-fight win streak snapped, in which he finished four of his opponents. There was much complaining that the 34-year-old didn’t deserve the title shot and was “terrible for the sport.” Even in his loss, Rountree Jr.’s stock could not be higher, and he could work his way back to the title in no time.
In the meantime, he will need some time off to recover.
