Ultimate Fighting Championship is headed back to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as UFC 240 is set to go down from inside Rogers Place on July 27, 2019 featuring a Featherweight title fight between division king, Max Holloway, taking on Frankie Edgar.
Now, the promotion has unveiled the official poster for the event, which will be airing exclusively on ESPN+.
Edgar and Holloway have been booked to fight on two separate occasions, with both matches getting scratched due to injury. After Holloway came up short in his bid to become UFC champ-champ at UFC 236, he wanted to bounce back and defend his belt. While many felt Alexander Volkanovski should’ve gotten the nod, UFC ultimately felt “The Answer” was to give Edgar his chance to settle unfinished business with “Blessed.”
In the co-main event, Cris Cyborg will face off against Felicia Spencer in what could be the final fight of her UFC career, as the forerm champ intends to test free agency once her contract runs out. Cris hasn’t competed since losing her 145-pound title to Amanda Nunes last December, while Felicia made a splash in her UFC debut by taking out Megan Anderson at UFC Rochester last month (see it).
