After former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos earned his way back into the win column with a five-round victory over Ben Rothwell earlier this year in Croatia (see it), he was sidelined after undergoing surgery to repair a bum shoulder (full details here). But, according to his latest Instagram post, a yoked “Cigano” has been cleared for training by his doctor.

Dos Santos’ win over Rothwell was his first in almost two years. With the first step in returning to competition set in motion, the Brazilian’s large physical presence in the 265-pound division will spark things up in a weight class that has had its title change hands so frequently over the last three years.

All that’s left to do now is shake off the rust and book a face-punching contest. Any suggestions?
