Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has unveiled the poster for the upcoming UFC 256 pay-per-view (PPV) event set to go down Dec. 12, 2020 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada and airing exclusively on ESPN+.
The event has undergone several main event makeovers, which is a good thing the promotion held out in releasing the final poster. Indeed, after the Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns Welterweight title fight was scrapped, and then women’s Featherweight title fight between Amanda Nunes vs Megan Anderson suffered the same fate, the promotion pegged Petr Yan to defend his Bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling.
After that fight was scrapped due to via issues, the promotion then asked Deiveson Figueiredo to make a quick turnaround to defend his Flyweight title against Brandon Moreno, which is what highlights the new poster.
Also getting share of the spotlight is former interim Lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, as he makes his return to face off against Charles Oliveira in a fight that could produce the next title contender at 155 pounds.
