Pic: UFC website lists Cris Cyborg as a men’s bantamweight fighter

Cris Cyborg is finally in the UFC, and the promotion’s website has her competing in the men’s bantamweight division.

The last time we noted an error on the official UFC website, Alan Belcher was apparently scheduled to fight Tatsuya Kawajiri at the TUF 22 Finale. Surprisingly, this never materialized, as Belcher is retired and would otherwise be unable to make the huge weight cut to featherweight.

Today’s mistake centers around current Invicta FC champion Cris Cyborg, whom the UFC announced would fight at a 140 lbs catchweight against Leslie Smith at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil. Unfortunately, Cyborg has been frequently and distastefully labeled as a man, (or at least possessing male organs) throughout her career by both fans and even prominent UFC figures. Joe Rogan recently apologized after joking on his podcast that Cyborg had a penis. UFC president Dana White once called Cyborg “Wanderlei Silva in a dress and heels.”

With that in mind, the UFC’s website has listed Cyborg at bantamweight (because they don’t have a 145 lbs division, obviously). The problem? She’s listed with the men’s 135ers.

By the way, Kakai and Jabouin are no longer with the UFC; Kakai even fought on a Bellator MMA main card this year, but their roster table has never exactly been the best representation of who they actually have under contract.

As of 5:31 PM ET, it appears as if the mistake has been corrected.
