Aaron Pico will make one more appearance inside the Bellator MMA cage in 2021 in an attempt to extend his current win streak to five when he takes on Justin Gonzales at the upcoming Bellator 271 event on Nov. 12, 2021, inside Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., per ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.
Since suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of Henry Corrales and Adams Borics, Pico has been on a tear, rattling off four straight wins, including his most recent victory over Aiden Lee, which went down at Bellator 260 earlier this year. Ranked No. 5 in the Featherweight division, Pico is steadily climbing the ladder to a potential shot at the title.
Gonzalez, meanwhile, is undefeated (12-0), earning a big win over Tywan Claxton — also at Bellator 260 — in what was his debut for the Viacom-owned promotion. “J-Train” did earn a win on Dana White’s “Contender Series” in 2019, but never got an offer for a contract. Now, Gonzalez — who is ranked No. 8 — looks to make some noise under the Bellator banner.
Bellator 271 will be headlined by a women’s Featherweight title fight as division champion Cris Cyborg defends her belt against Sinead Kavanagh.
