Dustin Poirier teases of a move to 170-pounds.
Dustin Poirier started out his UFC career as a featherweight, but ‘The Diamond’ could end up completing his career as a welterweight.
Poirier, the former UFC interim lightweight champion, said he is ‘100 percent’ willing to move up to another weight class for the right fight.

The 30-year-old lightweight standout recently dropped a submission loss to reigning champ Khabib Nurmagomedov but, prior to that, the Louisianan notched wins over three former — and one current — champions, beating Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez and Max Holloway to cement his position as one of the greatest 155-pound fighters in the world.
Poirier had previously shut down any talks of possibly fighting for the ‘BMF’ world title, a new, temporary UFC belt which will determine the ‘baddest motherf-cker’ on the planet when Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz collide in the UFC 244 main event at Madison Square Garden on November 2.
Poirier, who trains out of American Top Team (ATT) in Coconut Creek, Florida, is currently ranked #2 in the official UFC lightweight rankings and #13 in the pound-for-pound rankings. The 10-year MMA veteran is currently gunning for a rematch with former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ Conor McGregor, who is teased to make a comeback in December.
