Dustin Poirier says he has been ‘paid in full’ by the UFC.

After a public dispute with the UFC over fighter pay and failed negotiations with Tony Ferguson, former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier revealed that he has been ‘paid in full’ and is ready to ‘go out there and earn it in blood’.

Against who, exactly? Poirier didn’t reveal an opponent but ‘The Diamond’ seems most interested in potential matchups with Conor McGregor and ‘El Cucuy’. The Louisianan recently agreed to a charity matchup with McGregor outside of the UFC while Dana White claims to have offered both men a real fight under the UFC banner.

“I’m gonna go out there and earn it in blood,” Poirier posted in his first Tweet of the night before following up with “paid in full” and, “it’s all about perseverance”.

Poirier could also be hinting at a fight against UFC newcomer Michael Chandler, who is reportedly on tap for the UFC 254 main event between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje should one of them pull out of the fight due to unforeseen circumstances. Poirier was offered a fight against Chandler, the former Bellator lightweight champion, in the UFC 254 co-main event but turned it down due to ‘loyalty’ to Ferguson.

Whoever Poirier’s next opponent is, expect an official announcement in the coming days.
