Move over Derrick Lewis, Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic — UFC legend Don Frye and his legendary ‘stache want a stab at Francis Ngannou.
Don Frye wants to be the alpha Predator in a past vs. present matchup with UFC Heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou.
Frye (20-9-1-1) recently dropped by The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and told Rogan that he would like to make a comeback. Not just any comeback, the two-time UFC tournament winner and UFC Hall of Famer wants a crack at defending champion and all-around juggernaut Ngannou (16-3).

“[I want] to make a comeback,” Frye told a surprised Rogan. “S—t yeah, Joe. S—t yeah. I’d love to fight Ngannou. Yeah, yeah. He’s amazing.”
Rogan asked if it would be better to fight someone his own age.
Frye replied, “Why? They don’t have the belt. Do they?”
Frye, 55, has not competed professionally since Dec. 2011. He would be coming off back-to-back losses and is winless dating back to a 2019 submission over Ritch Moss at Shark Fights 6. His illustrious career includes wins over Ken Shamrock, Gilbert Yvel, Tank Abbott and Gary Goodridge, among others.
Ngannou has won five consecutive fights via (technical) knockout, most recently dethroning Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight crown at UFC 260 on March 27, 2021. He will have the opportunity make good on the only unavenged loss of his promotional career against Derrick Lewis, likely later this year.
