Preview! Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just hours away from its upcoming UFC 237 pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) event on ESPN+, set to take place tonight (Sat., May 11, 2019) inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, featuring a strawweight title fight between reigning 115-pound champion, Rose Namajunas, and top division contender, Jessica Andrade.

Namajunas (8-3) has been on the sidelines rehabbing a neck injury for the past year and hasn’t seen action since defending her title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 223 in early 2018. Winning six of her last seven fights, “Thug Rose” is looking to nab her second straight title defense.

Andrade (19-6) punched her ticket to the big dance after reeling off three impressive victories over Tecia Torres, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Claudia Gadelha. Her win streak was good enough to secure the No. 1 spot over Jedrzejczyk. In fact, “Bate Estaca’s” last defeat came at the hands of “Joanna Champion” nearly two years ago.
