Niko Price and James Vick faced each other in a Welterweight clash tonight (Sat., Oct. 12, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 161, which took place inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., streaming online via ESPN+. In another crazy finish, Price stopped his foe with a violent upkick in the first round (watch highlights).
Price scored an early right hand and a low kick. Vick answered with a 1-2. A side kick landed for Vick. Suddenly, a right hand from Price off-balanced Vick, resulting in top position for the Floridian. As Vick scrambled back up, Price attempted to force a takedown, but he gave up top position in the process. SOMEHOW that turned out to be a good thing, as Price knocked his opponent out with an upkick and follow up punches!
For the second time, Niko Price has scored a knockout from his back, which is absolutely wild. He’s the ultimate opportunist. Meanwhile, Vick has now lost yet another fight via knockout, and his hopes of success in a new division are dampened.
Result: Niko Price defeats James Vick via knockout at 1:44 of Round One
