The rejuvenated ProElite mixed martial arts promotions is looking at returning to Hawaii early next year during the NFL Pro Bowl weekend.

Promotion exec T. Jay Thompson told MMAFighting.com on Friday that they were looking at Jan. 28, 2012 as a possible date for a future event in the new year.

ProElite already has plans to put on a next show on Nov. 5, so it’s unclear if the Pro Bowl weekend event would be the third, or possibly a fourth.

The promotion held their return event last month, August 27, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii which featured a ten-bout card. The main card was streamed live on Sherdog.com which featured UFC vets Kendall Grove, Joe Riggs, Andrei Arlovski, and the debut of Reagan Penn.

Sticking with ProElite news, sources outside of the promotion also confirmed with MMAFighting.com that a possible heavyweight bout between Arlovski (16-9) and former UFC fighter, Sean ‘Big Sexy’ McCorkle (12-2) was turned down by ‘The Pitbull’s’ camp.

No reason was given for turning down the fight.
