Turns out the guy who got slugged by Conor McGregor earlier this year in Dublin, after turning down a glass of the Irishman’s Proper No. 12 whiskey, is more upset that people are calling him an old man than he was about the punch.
“Look-it, I can take a punch,” the 50 year-old mystery man told Irish Daily Star.
Age is relative so he may not qualify for geezer status just yet, but to the average kid, he’s probably got one foot in the grave. And it was hard to tell from that grainy pub footage released last week (see it again here).
“I am sitting on the bar stool just having a quiet pint with my friend then all of a sudden because I refuse his drink I get a punch, you don’t need that in life,” he said. “He is a bit of a bully, a bully with money.”
Not that being anything less than a senior citizen makes it okay, because the victim also claimed he was “in pain for a week,” so McGregor is deserving of the scorn. It will be interesting to see how that affects the charges filed against “Notorious” when the incident is handled by authorities in the coming weeks.
Something UFC fans are (sadly) getting used to.
