The two headliners are both guaranteed much more than what’s on the paysheet.
The fighter purses are out for Saturday night’s Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman pay-per-view event. Officially, Pacquiao’s purse is listed at $10 million, while Keith Thurman’s is $2.5 million. Per ESPN’s Dan Rafael, their respective guarantees are much higher than what’s written on the Nevada Athletic Commission’s sheet. It’s common knowledge at this point that Pacquiao’s guarantee is in the neighborhood of $20 million. This is Thurman’s first PPV main event, so this is surely a career-high payday for the WBA welterweight champion.
As for the rest of the event, the only fighters on either the PPV or FOX broadcast not getting at least six figures are Juan Carlos Payano, Jayar Inson (who’s fighting Sergey Lipinets on one day notice after John Molina Jr withdrew), and heavyweight prospects Efe Ajagba and Ali Eren Demirezen. Caleb Plant has the next highest purse at $750,000, as he defends his IBF super-middleweight belt against Mike Lee, who’s on $250,000.
