No fighter is going to sneeze at $1 million, the top prize in the PFL 2021 tournament.
But for Rory MacDonald, no stranger to high-profile fights under the UFC and Bellator MMA banners, his debut for PFL represents more than just the opportunity to line his pockets. “Red King” wants to jumpstart a new era in his combat sports career.
“Even more so than the points, it’s just my own objectives and goals in this sport,” MacDonald said. “Going forward, I feel like this is a new era in my career and I had a lot of time to reflect on how I want to leave my footprint on this sport. I want to go out there and fight with no regrets. I want to finish like I have been known for earlier in my career.”
MacDonald (21-6-1) is coming off a decision loss to Douglas Lima for Bellator MMA, where he compiled a 3-2 mark with one draw. “Red King” is scheduled to fight fellow UFC welterweight veteran Curtis Millender this Thursday night (April 29) in Atlantic City, NJ.
The PFL main card will air live on ESPN2.
