With no fight scheduled, former UFC champion and UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture (19-10) has his schedule booked up with acting for the first quarter of 2011.
Couture has acted in several different films since 2003 and had his biggest role on the silver screen starring in last summers hit “The Expendables”. The 47-year-old fighter has spoken recently about following a career in acting instead of competing in the octagon.
“The Natural” is set for his next film project, the “Setup” which will begin filming next month. He’ll star alongside big names such as Bruce Willis and 50 cent. After that he’s set to film the sequel to “The Expendables” in March.
Couture’s last octagon appearance was last August when he took on boxing legend James Toney at UFC 118. “Captain America” as he’s also known, won the bout easily using an arm-triangle choke to finish Toney in the first round.
