They will meet again.
Rani Yahya and Johnny Bedford, who fought to a no-contest at the UFC Fight Night card in Abu Dhabi, are set to collide one more time at UFN 44 in San Antonio, Texas, on June 28, the promotion announced on Monday.
Their first meeting ended in 39 seconds, when Yahya went down after an accidental clash of heads.
Prior to his bout with Yahya, Bedford (19-10-1, 1 no-contest) suffered his first loss under the UFC banner in a third-round submission loss to Bryan Caraway. “Brutal’s” two wins inside the Octagon were knockouts over Marcus Vinicius and Louis Gaudinot.
Yahya (19-8, 1 no-contest) will attempt his first win since returning to the bantamweight division. The Brazilian, who went 4-2 since moving up to the featherweight class in 2011, defeated Eddie Wineland and Josh Hosman when fighting at 135 pounds under the WEC banner.
UFC Fight Night 44 takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and will be headlined by a five-round featherweight clash between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
