The undefeated Ciryl Gane won all five rounds against Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event of UFC Vegas 20.
In the main event of UFC Vegas 20, Cyril Gane dominated Jairzinho Rozenstruik to win a one-sided unanimous decision (50-45 x3).
What was the high point of the fight?
A snapping jab from Gane got the attention of Rozenstruik at the start of the first round. Rozenstruik landed a hard left hand as Gane landed a body kick. At the end of the opening round, Gane secured the first takedown of the fight. In the second round, Gane tried to lock up a rear-naked choke after breaking from the clinch but Rozenstruik broke away.
A step-in knee from Gane landed on the cup of Rozenstruik in the fourth round. Gane continued to control the rest of the fight, with Rozenstruik being unable to counter the late clinch work and wrestling from “Bon Gamin”.
Where do they go from here?
Gane picked up his fifth straight UFC win as he improved his record to a flawless 8-0. The Frenchman will likely swap places with Rozenstruik when the new UFC rankings are released. Maybe a fight with Alexander Volkov makes sense next for Gane.
Rozenstruik has now lost two of his last three UFC appearances. It’s a disappointing loss for “Bigi Boi” who never really got any rhythm going against Gane. A fight against heavyweight prospect Chris Daukaus is a fun one to make next for Rozenstruik.
Watch it now, later or never?
Never. It wasn’t the most entertaining fight, even if it’s a solid performance from Gane.
