To some of the newer mixed martial arts (MMA) fans in our audience, longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight slugger Jeremy Stephens — who started his career at 155 pounds — is perhaps best known as the guy who wasn’t known to “Notorious” loudmouth Conor McGregor.

Who da’ fook is dat guy?

To be fair, Stephens, 33, has often flown under the radar, which is surprising when you consider “Lil’ Heathen” has been competing inside the Octagon for over 12 years and racked up eight brutal knockout stoppages along the way, some of which are featured in the promotion’s “Top Finishes” video embedded above.

Straight nasty.

Stephens (28-16) is looking to snap a two-fight losing streak after racking up three consecutive victories between 2017-18. Despite his inconsistency, “Lil’ Heathen” remains a dangerous striker with one-punch knockout power, having already stopped 19 opponents by way of flying fists.

It will be interesting to see how his aggressive attack measures up against the dynamic offense of 145-pound striker Yair Rodriguez, who meets Stephens in the UFC Fight Night 159 main event this Sat. (Sept. 21, 2019) inside Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City.
