Jose Aldo will have his bantamweight debut in December, at UFC 245.

Jose Aldo won’t get his wish of taking on champion Henry Cejudo right off the bat, but he will not be too far from it should he win his bantamweight debut. Per MMA Junkie’s report, the former featherweight champion will be welcomed into the lighter division by former title challenger Marlon Moraes in December at UFC 245.

In his last outing, Jose Aldo (28-5) was outworked and dropped a unanimous decision to featherweight number-one contender Alexander Volkanovski, back in May. Before the loss, the 32-year-old picked up a couple of TKO wins over the likes of Jeremy Stephens and Renato Moicano.

The fight will also mark Marlon Moraes’ (22-6-1) first return to the Octagon since his TKO loss to Henry Cejudo back in June. Prior to the loss, ‘Magic’ was on a four-fight winning streak, which led him to the title shot, with wins over John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling, Jimmie Rivera, and Raphael Assuncao.

Now, Jose Aldo is expected to take on Marlon Moraes at UFC 245, on December 14, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is scheduled host three title fights; a welterweight one between the champion, Kamaru Usman, and former interim champ Colby Covington; a featherweight one, between title-holder Max Holloway and the number one contender, Alexander Volkanovski; and a female bantamweight one between champion Amanda Nunes and former featherweight title holder Germaine De Randamie.
