Fellow countrywomen Amanda Ribas and Virna Jandiroba are reportedly headed to UFC 267 on October 30.
A strawweight battle between two Brazilians is reportedly headed to UFC 267. According to Combate, grappling specialists Amanda Ribas and Virna Jandiroba have agreed to face each other in the promotion’s return to ‘Fight Island.’
In her most recent outing. Ribas (10-2) suffered her first ever UFC loss, when she got TKO’d by another Brazilian in Marina Rodriguez back in January. Before the defeat, the 27-year-old was on a four-fight winning streak in the Octagon, with victories over Paige VanZant, Randa Markos, Mackenzie Dern and Emily Whitmire.
Looking to begin a new win streak, Jandiroba (17-2) picked up a doctor stoppage TKO win in her last outing, when she bested Kanako Murata in a dominant performance, in June. The victory made the 33-year-old bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Mackenzie Dern, back in December.
Now, Ribas is expected to take on Jandiroba at UFC 267, on October 30, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The card is scheduled to feature a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.
