Bantamweight veteran Bethe Correia is now reportedly set to face Karol Rosa on October 2.

The last fight of former bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia might be upon us. Per Combate’s report, the ‘Pitbull’ is now set to take on fellow countrywoman Karol Rosa in October 2.

After announcing that her farewell bout would be against Wu Xianan in January of this year, the Brazilian was forced out of the bout to undergo an emergency appendix surgery, which delayed her plans. Although it is not yet official whether or not this will in fact be the last fight of Bethe’s career, she has not announced any change of plans yet.

In her last outing, Correia (11-5-1) dropped a unanimous decision to Pannie Kianzad, back in July 2020. The loss happened right after Bethe’s sole win in her last five outings, a unanimous decision victory against Sijara Eubanks, in September 2019. Before that, the 38-year-old was finished by both Irene Aldana and Holly Holm, while fighting Marion Reneau to a majority draw.

The up-and-coming Rosa (14-3) will look for her fourth straight win in the Octagon when she meets Correia. In her previous outings, the 26-year-old picked up three decision wins, over Lara Procopio, Vanessa Melo and Joselyne Edwards. In fact, Karol’s last loss happened more than two years ago, when she got tapped out by Melissa Gatto in September 2018.

Now, Correia is expected to face Rosa at UFC Fight Night 196, in a location yet to be determined, on October 2. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight contest between former title challenger Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker.
