Police were called to Jermall Charlo’s mansion after reports of an altercation.

According to ABC13 the Fort Bend Sheriff’s office has named Jermall Charlo, 30, as a suspect in an assault investigation. That outlet said the investigation was in connection to an altercation that took place at a party at Charlo’s mansion near Missouri City TX.

Boxing Scene reported that local authorities visited Charlo’s residence to conduct a welfare after a 911 call. On the scene an individual claimed that had been assaulted and suffered bodily harm. Investigators classified the incident as Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Despite being named as a suspect, Charlo has not been arrested or charged in relation to this incident.

Charlo is one of boxing’s rising stars. He currently holds the WBC middleweight title and he previously held the IBF junior middleweight title. He has a 30-0 record (22 KOs) and is ranked as the third best active middleweight by BoxRec and fourth by The Ring magazine.

Charlo’s last fight was a 7th round TKO over Dennis Hogan on December 7, 2019. Charlo’s next fight is yet to be announced. Potential opponents discussed in media circles include Chris Eubank Jr. and Canelo Alvarez.

Charlo’s twin brother Jermell Charlo is also a professional boxer. Jermell is a two time WBC light middleweight champion who holds a record of 33-1 (17 KOs). Last year Jermell Charlo was acquitted of domestic violence charges. He had been accused of striking and choking a woman in his Dallas condo in 2018.

Charlo was found not guilty after a jury trial. His accuser has since launched a civil suit against him.
