Looks like Dan Hooker will be competing at the UFC 305 pay-per-view (PPV) event next month in Perth — but it won’t be against Beneil Dariush or Drakkar Klose.

Instead, Hooker has agreed to throw hands with streaking lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot, who is currently ranked six spots ahead of “The Hangman” at No. 5 in the official 155-pound rankings (see them here).

That’s according to MMA Junkie (via Krazy Kev MMA).

Hooker (23-12) is coming off back-to-back wins over Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner, the first time he’s captured consecutive victories in over four years. As for Gamrot (24-2, 1 NC), he notched his third straight win by outlasting Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 299 last March.

UFC 305 will be headlined by the middleweight title fight pitting reigning 185-pound champion, Dricus Du Plessis, against former division titleholder, Israel Adesanya.
