Welterweights Michel Pereira and Niko Price are reportedly headed to UFC 264.
A battle between two of the flashiest strikers in the welterweight division has been reportedly added to the awaited UFC 264 card. Per Ag Fight, wild Brazilian knockout artist Michel Pereira is now set to take on an opponent with a similar skillset in Niko Price on July 10.
Currently on a two-fight winning streak, a less chaotic version of Michel Pereira (25-11-2 NC) defeated both Khaos Williams and Zelim Imadaev in his most recent outings. The 27-year-old’s last loss happened in February 2020, when he hit a downed Diego Sanchez with an illegal knee, which resulted in a disqualification defeat for the Brazilian.
In need of a win, Niko Price (14-4-2 NC) will look for his first win since a KO victory over James Vick in October 2019. In September 2020, the ‘Hybrid’ fought Donald Cerrone to a majority draw, but the result was later overturned to a No Contest after Price tested positive for traces of THC in his system. Before that, the 31-year-old had been TKO’d by Vicente Luque, in May of the same year.
UFC 264 is scheduled to be headlined by a trilogy match in the lightweight division, between former double champion Conor McGregor and ex-interim title-holder Dustin Poirier.
