UFC lightweight contender Charles Oliveira is reportedly meeting Beneil Dariush in October.
A battle of Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelts with knockout power is reportedly going down in two months. According to Ag Fight’s report, lightweight contenders Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush will square off on October 3.
Currently on a seven-fight winning streak, with all victories coming by finish, Oliveira (29-8-1 NC) is in the best form of his UFC career. During this time, ‘Do Bronx’ bested notable names in the division, such as Clay Guida, Jim Miller and most recently, back in March, Kevin Lee. The 30-year-old’s last loss happened in December 2017, when he was TKO’d by Paul Felder.
Dariush (19-4-1) is looking for his sixth straight win after beating Thiago Moises, Drew Dober, Frank Camacho and Drakkar Klose. In his last outing, the 31-year-old knocked out Scott Holtzman with a spinning back fist, making it his fourth straight finish. His last loss happened in March 2018, when he was knocked out by Alexander Hernandez.
Oliveira and Dariush will reportedly meet at UFC Fight Night 179. While not confirmed by the UFC, a female bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and contender Irene Aldana is rumored to be card’s headliner. So far, a location for the event is yet to be determined.
