The “Suga Show” is heading to UFC 250 as Sean O’Malley is set to face Eddie Wineland
A fight between undefeated UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley and veteran Eddie Wineland is being discussed for UFC 250 on June 6th.
O’Malley announced the news on his Twitch channel and said he has signed the contract for the fight. The UFC is yet to officially announce the fight. Originally supposed to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, UFC 250 on June 6th does not yet have a location or venue to its name.
The highly popular O’Malley (11-0) returned to the octagon in March of this year after serving two USADA suspensions for ostarine. “Sugar” knocked out José Alberto Quiñónez in his return at UFC 248, earning a Performance of the Night bonus in the process. O’Malley was signed to the UFC after impressing on Dana White’s contender series, he has since gone 3-0 in the promotion.
Wineland (24-13-1) is a former WEC bantamweight champion who has faced some of the best at 135-pounds. The 35-year-old was expected to face Marlon Vera at UFC Columbus in March, but the card was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Wienland has won three of his last five fights.
UFC 250 will be headlined by women’s featherweight title fight between current champion Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer.
