Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will reportedly take on contender Kamaru Usman in November.
An intriguing welterweight pairing is reportedly headed to Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Combate, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is set to square off against one of the division’s top contenders, Kamaru Usman, at the The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale main event.
However, Ali Abdelaziz, Usman’s manager and former manager of Rafael dos Anjos, went on Twitter to say he wasn’t aware of the matchup. He replied to the original report written by Combate’s Raphael Marinho.

Ever since he moved up to welterweight back in June 2017, Rafael dos Anjos (28-10) quickly racked up three wins in a row over Tarec Saffiedine, Neil Magny, and Robbie Lawler. However, in his last outing, the 33-year-old dropped a unanimous decision to Colby Covington at UFC 225, in a fight for the division’s interim title.
A TUF competitor himself, Kamaru Usman (13-1) gave the Blackzilians victory in season 21 and is still undefeated inside the Octagon. Currently on an impressive eight-fight win streak, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ defeated Demian Maia in his last outing, in May, and also holds wins over other notable names such as Warlley Alves and Leon Edwards.
The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale is set for November 30 and airs live on Fox Sports 1.
