Light heavyweights Mauricio Rua and Tyson Pedro are expected to meet in Australia.
A battle of light heavyweight finishers looks to be added to the next installment of the UFC in Australia. Per ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, former champion Mauricio Rua is expected to take on prospect Tyson Pedro at UFC Fight Night 142, in Adelaide.
Mauricio Rua (25-11) was on three-fight winning streak, with wins over the likes of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Corey Anderson and Gian Villante. That streak ended emphatically back in July, when he was knocked out in the first-round by Anthony Smith.
Tyson Pedro (7-2) will look to bounce back a submission loss to Ovince Saint Preux back in June. During his current UFC run, the Australian picked up stoppage wins over the likes of Khalil Rountree Jr, Paul Craig and Saparbek Safarov. However, Pedro also dropped a unanimous decision loss to Ilir Latifi.
UFC Fight Night 142 takes place on December 1st (Sunday, December 2nd in Australia) and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between former titleholder Junior dos Santos and up-and-comer Tai Tuivasa.
