Belo Horizonte, Brazil will earn a UFC return date when the promotion brings the third installment of its UFC on FOX Sports 1 event series on Sept. 4, according to Brazilian website Portal Do Vale Tudo.
The site reported on Sunday night that two bouts are being targeted for the event: a light-heavyweight match between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader as well as a contest pitting Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza against Yushin Okami.
Teixeira and Bader were first linked for a matchup at May’s UFC 160, but the bout was scratched after Bader suffered a training injury. Instead, Teixeira (21-2) went on to face and defeat James Te Huna, notching his 19th straight win, a streak that’s stayed intact for more than seven years.
Bader has won three of his last four, with a January guillotine choke submission over Vladimir Matyushenko his last victory.
Souza will be making his second start since coming to the UFC. In his octagon debut, the former Strikeforce middleweight champion put Chris Camozzi to sleep with an arm triangle choke.
In Okami, he’ll be facing off against a former No. 1 contender who has won three straight, including a split-decision over Hector Lombard. The match will almost certainly have implications for the middleweight title picture.
The UFC first visited Belo Horizonte in June 2012 for UFC 147, which drew over 16,000 fans to see Rich Franklin defeat Wanderlei Silva by decision in the main event.
