Report: Tyrone Spong returns to boxing on March 5th in Chechnya
Kickboxing star Tyrone Spong is set to return to the boxing ring on March 5th in Grozny, Chechnya.
Ever since Tyrone Spong was carried out on a stretcher after suffering a gruesome leg fracture against Gokhan Saki at Glory 15: Istanbul, he has only fought twice in boxing fights over the past 22 months. Spong will continue that trend when he returns to the ring for another boxing fight in Grozny, Chechnya on March 5th.
According to reports, Spong will meet Georgia’s Shalva Jomardashvili on the Ruslan Chagaev vs. Lucas Browne main card. The event is scheduled to take place in the Akhmat Arena in Grozny. Spong is currently training at the “Akhmat MMA” facility, which is funded by Chechen leader and MMA hobbyist Ramzan Kadyrov.
