Women’s bantamweights Ketlen Vieira and Yana Kunitskaya will reportedly meet in August.
Another women’s bantamweight matchup is on tap for the UFC’s August 1st show.
According to MMA Junkie’s report, prospect Ketlen Vieira will take on Yana Kunitskaya at a location to be determined, as the promotion intends to have all of its July events at “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.
Undefeated up until her last bout, when she was knocked out cold by Irene Aldana, Ketlen Vieira (10-1) is now headed to her first fight in 2020. Before the defeat, the 28-year-old picked up four wins in the Octagon, against Kelly Faszholz, Ashlee Evans-Smith, and former title challengers Sara McMann and Cat Zingano.
Yana Kunitskaya (12-5) will also look to bounce back from a knockout loss in her last outing, when she got stopped by Aspen Ladd back in December. Before that, the 30-year-old scored a couple of unanimous decision wins over Marion Reneau and Lina Lansberg.
UFC Fight Night 175 is scheduled to be headlined by a women’s bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and Irene Aldana.
