Revenge is a dish best served … fake?
Brock Lesnar submitted Cain Velasquez to kick off the WWE: “Crown Jewel” pay-per-view (PPV) event this afternoon in Saudi Arabia, a rematch from their UFC 121 showdown back in Oct. 2010, which took place under the unified rules of mixed martial arts (MMA).
Today’s bout was contested under the unified rules of “It’s Still Real To Me.”

Lesnar returned to professional wrestling after his UFC 200 drug-testing fiasco, whereas Velasquez did not make the jump to WWE until injuries — and a couple of high-profile defeats — left him soured on combat sports.
No doubt this feud has not seen its end but it’s likely that WWE will send Velasquez back down to NXT or keep him in low-profile matches while he hones his craft. I don’t want to say the former UFC champ is still green, but rumor has it his backstage nickname is “booger.”
