Rick Story’s campaign to fight Jake Ellenberger next was unsuccessful.

Instead, “Horror” has agreed to replace the injured Gunnar Nelson against Mike Pyle at UFC 160 next month, the UFC announced Tuesday.

Nelson tweeted that his injury will require surgery, but he didn’t mention what exactly happened or how long he expects to be out for.

Following his UFC 158 win over Quinn Mulhern in March, Story campaigned hard for a rematch against Ellenberger, who he defeated in 2008 outside of the UFC. However, Ellenberger didn’t seem all that interested in the idea, considering he’s ranked higher than Story these days. Story (15-6) is 2-3 in his last five fights.

Pyle (24-8-1) has won his last three fights in a row in rather impressive fashion, as he finished every fight in the first round. He most recently defeated James Head via first-round TKO in December.

UFC 160, headlined by Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Silva 2 for the UFC heavyweight title, takes place May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
