A lot of fans (and pundits) were shocked when Jorge Masvidal got knocked out by welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the UFC 261 pay-per-view (PPV) main event last weekend in Jacksonville.

Not Leon Edwards.

“I been saying Jorge is shit for three years now,” Edwards wrote on social media. “Do you believe me yet? See you soon champ. I know you don’t want to fight that hillbilly clown whose jaw you already broke. I’ll go do my part on May 15th, then we running it back.”

Usman defeated Edwards at UFC on FOX 17.

Since then, both Edwards and Usman have remained undefeated in a very crowded 170-pound division. “Rocky” was expected to fight Masvidal after their “three piece and a soda” dustup back in early 2019, but it never materialized.

As of this writing, Usman is expected to rematch Colby Covington at some point later this year, while Edwards will need to handle his business against Nate Diaz at UFC 262 on May 15 in Houston, Texas.
