Former UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, was scheduled to face No. 4-ranked contender, Jack Della Maddalena, atop the upcoming UFC London fight card on March 22; however, the promotion plucked “JDM” from the ESPN+ lineup to fight Belal Muhammad for the 170-pound strap at UFC 315 on May 10 in Montreal.
The Aussie takes over for the injured Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Stepping in to face “Rocky” in the UFC London headliner will be No. 5-ranked welterweight contender, Sean Brady. The once-beaten Philadelphian is coming off back-to-back victories over Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns. As for Edwards, he’s been out of action since coughing up his crown to Muhammad in the UFC 304 main event last July.
Expect the winner to keep a very close eye on this fight.
UFC London will also feature the light heavyweight showdown between former champion, Jan Blachowicz, and power punching kiwi, Carlos Ulberg. In addition, Gunnar Nelson makes his Octagon return against hot-and-cold fan favorite, Kevin Holland. Elsewhere on the O2 Arena fight card, Mick Parkin meets Marcin Tybura in heavyweight action.
