A women’s Bantamweight fight between Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau is close to being finalized to go down at an upcoming “Fight Night” event, which is tentatively set for June 20 at the APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s according to MMA Junkie, who brought word of the pending match up.
Both ladies are looking to get back into the win column after suffering losses in their last outings. Pennington was defeated by Holly Holm for a second time, this time losing a unanimous decision to the former pro boxer at UFC 246. Over her last four UFC bouts, “Rocky” has gone 1-3, which means she needs a win pretty badly here to prevent falling further down the the rabbit hole.
Reneau, meanwhile, is currently on a two-fight skid, losing back-to-back bouts to Yana Kunitskaya and Cat Zingano. Prior to those losses, Marion was on a nice run, winning three straight bouts and fighting to a draw against Bethe Correia.
As it stands, the only other fight lined up for the upcoming ESPN+-streamed event is one pitting Roxanne Modafferi against Lauren Murphy (more about that here). As always, keep it tuned to MMAMania.com as more bouts become official.
