Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has officially announced the booking of a highly-intriguing Middleweight bout between former two-time title contender, Yoel Romero, taking on Uriah Hall.
The two will throw down at an upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 22, 2020 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. It won’t be the main attraction, though, as that honor will fall to Frankie Edgar and Pedro Munhoz, who were recently yanked from UFC 252 on Aug. 15 to spearhead this event.
Romero is in desperate need of a win after dropping three straight to Israel Adesanya, Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa. Hall, meanwhile, has won two straight and is 3-1 in his last four outings. It’s a nice turnaround for “Prime Time,” who lost three straight before his current run.
As far as Edgar and Munhoz are concerned, their fights has been moved three times now, as it was was initially set to go down at UFC 251 on July 11, 2020 on “Fight Island” before it was moved to UFC on ESPN 13 a few days later. The bout was then scratched after Munhoz tested positive for COVID-19.
It was then moved to UFC 252 on Aug. 15 before it was once again rescheduled to go down on Aug. 22. Nevertheless, it seems this will be the final destination for the Bantamweight bout. And with the addition of Romero vs Hall it has a nice one-two punch to it.
And not to mention Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill will collided in women’s Strawweight action, as well.
