Ron Stallings steps in on week’s notice to face Uriah Hall in Boston

Hopefully, the third opponent will be the charm for Uriah Hall.

Strikeforce vet Ron Stallings agreed to step up on one week’s notice and meet Hall in a middleweight bout Sunday night at UFC Fight Night in Boston.

MMAFighting.com confirmed the bout with the UFC after FOXSports.com initially reported the bout Monday.

Stallings (12-6), a Maryland-based fighter, has won three of his past four fights, including a knockout win over UFC vet Mike Massenzio. Stallings also lost to Adlan Amagov at a 2011 Strikeforce Challengers event.

Hall (9-4), is best known for a highlight-reel knockout on The Ultimate Fighter. But he’s also remember for his last fight, at UFC 175, in which he suffered a compound fracture of his toe, but still gutted his way to a victory over Thiago Santos. That was Hall’s second consecutive win.

Hall was originally scheduled to face Costas Philippou, who fell out with an injury, then Louis Taylor, who did the same.
