It looks as though the bookies aren’t sold on the revenge/redemption angle. Though the trilogy match between newly-minted UFC women’s Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and former division queenpin Ronda Rousey is nowhere near booked, oddsmakers have released lines for their impending showdown.

The five sites listed have Rousey — who submitted Tate in each of their first two fights — as a -450 to -525 favorite, with Tate a +330 to +410 underdog. In other words, it would take a $450 to $525 bet on Rousey to make a $100 profit, while a $100 bet on Tate would produce a profit ranging from $330 to $410 (depending on which site you used).

Way back in their 2013 rematch, Rousey ended up around -900 to Tate’s +600, so while the bookies don’t expect “Cupcake” to take out her nemesis, they do think she’s got a better shot than before. Their respective performances against Holly Holm probably have a lot to do with that, with Rousey succumbing to a head kick knockout and Tate coming from behind to steal the strap (watch full fight video highlights here).

The two first collided in Strikeforce back in 2012 in Tate’s first defense of the title she’d taken from Marloes Coenen. Tate lasted longer than Rousey’s previous four opponents combined, but ultimately tapped after Rousey literally bent her arm in the wrong direction. The rivalry re-ignited when Tate replaced an injured Cat Zingano opposite Rousey on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18.

Tate ultimately won the show from a coaching perspective thanks to Chris Holdsworth and Julianna Pena, but failed in her attempt to exact revenge in their rematch. However, Tate became the first opponent to take Rousey past the first round. These proved to be consolation prizes, however, as Rousey once again locked up her signature armbar in the third frame.

It will be interesting to see how the odds develop should Rousey find the time to cash in on Dana White’s recent offer. We’ll keep you posted, as well as be all over whatever this guy is doing.
