They say every revolution starts with a fight.

This one, however, started with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) production team. As a result, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences nominated UFC 193 Revolution: Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm for a Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement.

Rousey fell to Holm by second-round knockout in the UFC 193 headliner last November, (temporarily) claiming the women’s bantamweight title in the process.

Also nominated in the category of Outstanding Edited Sports Coverage is UFC Fight Flashback: Mendes vs. McGregor, featuring Chad Mendes and Conor McGregor as they went to war for the interim featherweight title in the main event of UFC 189 last July.

McGregor won that bout by way of second-round technical knockout, then unified the 145-pound titles by defeating Jose Aldo at UFC 194 the following December.

The awards are presented in New York on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
